St. Louis Immanuel Academy Students Receive Precious Hand-made Scripture Recitation Cards From Sunday School

Blessed are those whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditate on his law day and night.

On February 12, after Sunday School, St. Louis Immanuel Academy students received precious scripture recitation cards from Sunday School. Each family received one set of cards.

Chaplain Pastor Sarah Zhang came up with this idea and initiated the card making work. The beautiful design was done by Sister Sandy. OU staff Sister Zhangzhen, Immanuel Academy teacher Xiaoqian and one volunteer parent Binyi helped with the cards together. It was a time-consuming job, and they worked around the clock for about two weeks.

There were 52 days between when they received the card and the Easter retreat. During the Easter Retreat, the chapel plans to hold a children’s scripture recitation competition according to their grade group.

This card making is their first attempt. Although the process is uneasy, they were full of hope in their hearts. They are planning to complete the second episode by Easter, the third episode by the summer retreat, the fourth episode by GA, and the fifth by Christmas. And they will also make bilingual scripture cards (Korean-English or Chinese-English).

Pastor Sarah shared, “I sincerely hope that children can keep God’s words richly in their hearts from an early age and live a blessed and fruitful life.”
